Who here hasn't heard...write it down? Write down what you have to do. Write down your grocery list. Write in your journal. Well here it is the end of February and I finally have my new years resolution or as I like : The Lisa that I should be!
First- Write down what we spend..I say "we" because yes I do most of the spending but it is our money and our goals. I am very happy to report that I loved all of your comments and suggestions and the 2 months that I have been writing down our expenses has meant a grocery bill cut in HALF...how crazy is that? A M A Z I N G!!! also kinda sad that so much money was wasted for so long...you live you learn, right?
Second- Yell less in the home. I saw a quote a little while back that said "Yelling in the home should only happen if there's a fire" Now I know that wont always happen. But I really do like the idea of thinking of another way to get my kids attention. I read to try whispering. I have tried and it has worked really well. I still lose it here and there but I can say I am honestly trying. A friend of mine told me she went to someones house and the mom is really nice and sweet but then would turn around and scream at her kids and how uncomfortable it made her feel. It REALLY made me take a step back and think to myself. WOW, I would hate to be "the mom that does that".
Third- Write down my memories. I have a very very bad memory. I really hate that too. I can remember some memories from my childhood. But I have to say I don't remember tons. Yes I did cut my head open twice..that could be a contributing factor. :) I also think I am tired a lot and do a lot and just things get pushed out. I just don't want my memories of today to be forgotten tomorrow. So I am trying to blog more and actually write in my journal. I am also working on getting my family story. My grandparents and parents and even great grandparents. They went through so many amazing experiences that I know I can learn from.
There are many many more things I need to work on and learn but these are a few of the BIG ones.
What is one of yours?

All Aboard Diner!
My mom and nephews came over for a quick visit during their mid winter break. My kids only had one day off so we went to a fun place called "All aboard diner". The kids were so excited. You walk in and trains are everywhere.
We waited a half hour to sit at the counter. While you sit a train goes all around the counter on the track there delivering food. It is the cutest thing ever.

A BIG girl luncheon!
Last weekend the girls and I had some friends over for a lunch. I love to host girls night and lunches or dinners but it is always with adults only. Now that I am an activity day leader ( that is a group of girls ages 8-11 yrs. that learn skills and gospel in a safe environment) it has opened my eyes that I need to have them also practice hosting. So each of them invited a friend. They planned the menu: build your own sub sandwiches, strawberries, chips, pink lemonade. lemonade cupcakes with strawberry frosting. They also cleaned the house and helped decorate. It was a lot of fun and after everyone left Jolie told me that she really liked doing that. I did too!

Batter UP!
Jacob took a little baseball class last spring with one of his buddies and loved it. This almost spring we decided to sign him up for a t-ball class. He was super excited to go even if he had to use his sisters pink glove.
Coach Bubba showing him where to run.
Jillian didn't have any school on Friday so she was super excited to come and cheer him on.

Valentine cards for the classrooms!
Giselle wouldn't put her hand out so instead she is just a cute little girl! :)
I actually got quite a few poses of Jacob, he was so excited to make these. One picture he was winking and I loved it but I decided you couldn't see his face as well as this one!
Name tag on the back of the card..cut out from my new cricut..thank you Mom, LOVE it!
Jolie is in middle school this year and so she wont be handing any out but I knew she would want to make a few so she posed too!

What should the girls try now?
ICE SKATING of course. You live where it's cold, you must do what the cold people do.
Haha really it was just a fun thing for them to try. All 3 have practice at the same time and a BIG bonus for me: it's on Saturday. So Brett and I take turns taking them. They are doing a great job. The first practice was pretty rough for Jillian. She kept falling over and over and over. Then at the very end we found out they gave her two left skates. Poor girl!

Key Lime Cove
This picture right above of all the kids in the car is all of us heading over to Key Lime cove. It was only an hour or so away but it was still an adventure and they were SO excited. I just love how sweet Jacob is to Giselle. Holding her hand. Best buddies! We just did an overnighter but it was tons of fun. The girls LOVED the slides ( well not Genna) and the lazy river and the wave pool. Brett and I loved the life jackets and warm towels they give you when you want it. It was a little tricky trying to help big kids and little kids wanting to do different things at the same time but we still had a blast. The family favorite was the lazy river for sure. The first day Giselle was fine but the second day she was really clingy and sleepy and just not her self. She never was super sick but just sick enough to not really enjoy herself. It was fun trip to take on a January cold day!
