Pink is in the Air!

This is just a small sampling of ALL the pink that happened this past sunday! A sweet teenager sent out an email on facebook asking everyone to wear pink to church this sunday. I knew Jamie wouldn't be there since she had her first round of Chemo this past thursday but her husband kids would be. So the replys of yes kept coming and coming. It was soo much fun to see all the pink and all the pink hair! :) Our ward has always been a great ward but now it is an amazing ward. For so many people have come together to show this family how much love we all have and want to give. It really is a humbling experience for me and my friends. You always say to yourself if anything were to happen to you would someone be there to help. There is NO doubt in my mind. There will ALWAYS be someone their to help. If you want to see more pink go to Jamie's blog here.

Can you believe it, even Brett wore a pink tie! He's so cute. LOVE YOU!!!

another statistic!

They say 8800 people get injured every year doing fireworks. This year we are one of those people. We were doing the normal light your own sparklers and little fountain fireworks. Genevieve had picked smoke bombs because the night before at a neighbors she loved it. The kids love the color smoke and pretended to be wizards and jump through the smoke when Jacob suddenly started screaming and grabbed his eye. Brett and I jumped up and ran inside to wash out his eye. You know how hard it is to wash out a 3yr. old's eye..very! He let us put a cold washcloth on his eye. We called the pediatrician who told us two other kids have done the same thing that day too. We went to urgent care and they gave him some antibiotic drops and told us to see the eye dr. on tuesday. Tuesday we went to the eye dr and they were worried and sent us to the Pediatric eye doctor. The doctor there said he looks ok keep doing the drops and check back in two weeks. Needless to say NO MORE jumping through smoke. Poor little guy. He keeps telling us his eye feels better because he does NOT want us to look at it, touch it most of all put drops in it!

New Jolie adventures!

Jolie tried something totally new this year. Softball. She loved being on the team!

The race at the end of the game was always the best part...gatorade too! She did a great job and learned so much. Can't wait for more family softball games to come!

Jolie also took piano lessons for the first time starting in January. Her teacher was Kathi Hanson and she loved every week. She practiced every day and couldn't wait to pass off a song.

Here she is doing a duet with her teacher. She is a mom of 5 also and was in our ward at church but our ward split and she goes to a different ward now but we get to see her because of piano.

Jolie's little hands play so well and so graceful. We can't wait to hear how next year goes. Way to go Jolie!!

Chipotle Lime chicken and steak with Chipotle honey sauce

My friend is a really great cook and I love everything she makes so when she posted a new recipe I couldn't wait to try it. I was a little nervous because I am not a big spicy eater but Brett is and I knew he would be excited. I went to her blog here.
It took me a while to find the chipotle peppers. the one I found is a small blue can. I used it for the chipotle honey sauce which the recipe is this

The honey sauce on the corn is AMAZING! Brett really liked it and it wasn't too spicy at all. Even my dad would like it. I didn't make it like Nachos like she did. I made lime cilantro rice and cooked the peppers like she did than made the steak and chicken. piled it all on top of each other. I do have some leftovers so I think i'm going to do the nachos today.

Thank You Lanna love new fun recipes!!!!!!!!!
